Keep Dayton Clean — Don't Be A Litterbug, featuring Lucky the Ladybug and Keep Montgomery County Beautiful

A cleaner Dayton starts with you — Do Not Be A Litterbug, Dayton, Ohio & Montgomery County

Dayton, Ohio · Montgomery County

Litter and illegal dumping don't just hurt our communities — they impact our health and well-being. A cleaner Dayton starts with you! You're invited to be a part of the change you want to see in your neighborhood and in our shared community.

This is a movement, not just a moment

We are neighbors with extra gloves and extra bags.

We stop litter and illegal dumping before it hits the ground and give the Gem City the shine it's named for — across Dayton's neighborhoods and all of Montgomery County.

Our Mission

Don't Be a Litterbug is dedicated to creating a cleaner, healthier Dayton and a more beautiful Montgomery County. By removing litter and stopping illegal dumping, we're inspiring residents and partners to take pride and ownership where they live, work, and play.

Our Vision

We envision a beautiful Dayton with the thriving communities we deserve and the clean neighborhoods we want to live in — preventing and removing litter and illegal dumping from our streets and public spaces.

What We Believe

Through Don't Be a Litterbug's year-long community clean-ups, public education, and beautification programs, we are building a movement and a culture where people love where they live and take care of their neighborhoods and public spaces.

Get involved

Join the Don't Be A Litterbug campaign.

Many ways to be the change — pick the day that fits your schedule.

Join a clean-up

Participate in an upcoming neighborhood clean-up. We're neighbors who always have extra gloves and extra bags — just show up.

Report a hotspot

Report a litter hotspot or dumping issue to the City. When people see litter, they're more likely to litter — the sooner we clean hotspots up, the more likely they are to stay clean.

Start your own

Be the change by organizing your own clean-up event. All you need is neighbors, gloves, and bins — we'll help with the rest and assign you an area.
